Shopex.cz is a marketplace platform that offers a wide selection of popular products and other services related to trade fairs organized by the company ABF. The history of trade fairs and exhibitions in the premises of PVA EXPO PRAHA in Letňany dates back to 1993, when the first professional events were held there. The vision of the project is to offer exhibitors a platform where they can offer their quality products and at the same time offer visitors a unified place with the top products from the trade fair they visited.

What was the main challenge of the project?

Shopex was faced with a major challenge, which was the missing strategy of digitalization of the trade fair business. This lack prevented from reaching the full potential of digital transformation, which had a direct impact on the performance of the entire e-commerce platform. The slow development of e-commerce caused a growing backlog that took disproportionately longer to resolve. In addition, challenging maintenance of the open source marketplace system, along with inappropriately targeted marketing and diverted branding, resulted in a large number of products underperforming. This combination of factors inhibited the overall growth and development of the company.
